The Trade Institute of Victoria’s Certificate III in Carpentry course needs no introduction.
Broadly recognised as one of the most professional and innovative Carpentry programs in the Building and Construction industry, TIV’s reputation and credibility has been even further enhanced in 2017 with regards to the completion rates and employment outcomes achieved by its students.
TIV’s latest group of Carpentry students this week celebrated the completion of their training with an informal gathering at TIV headquarters in Williamstown.
The group of ten students has been exemplary throughout the program and set a particularly high standard with respect to their attendance, commitment and professionalism throughout the course.
Not only have all ten students already secured full-time employment in the industry, the majority of the group have also committed to further study at TIV, enrolling in the Certificate IV in Building and Construction course to supplement their Carpentry qualification.
TIV Carpentry Manager Bill Spencer speaks glowingly of the group, praising their work ethic, initiative and ability to work both independently and collectively.
“All in all they were a really positive team of blokes with a real hunger about them,” Spencer says.
“They were always keen to learn and improve and took the initiative on each and every task throughout the entire program,” he adds.
So let’s meet the latest group of TIV Carpentry graduates;
Arun Kumar
Always reliable and willing to learn, Arun has secured work as a Carpenter installing kitchens for a construction crew in Epping. Also studying Certificate IV in Building and Construction simulataneously at TIV.
Teofisto Villar Santillan
A real character of the group always with a smile on his face, “Junior” has secured full-time work as a chippy while completing his Certificate IV in Building and Construction simultaneously at TIV. Has aspirations to become a successful builder and obtain his Victorian Builder’s registration.
Brett Woods
One of the more experienced members of the group, “Woodsy” has great foresight and is well organised when it comes to planning for the future. Already has secured work on a large scale construction project in Fairfield. Brett is also studying Certificate IV in Building and Construction at TIV.
Chris Waters
What you see is what you get with Chris, a straight shooter who calls a spade a spade. Chris has already secured high end domestic work locally and is also currently working closely with Building and Construction contract specialist Amrick.
Tao Zhou
Softly spoken with a great nature, Tao is a hard working student with an incredible zest to learn. Has secured work as a chippy and wants to become a registered builder down the track.
Mohamed Mohamed
A loveable character, Mohamed has already secured employment with a construction company in Brighton. Has aspirations to become a subcontractor in the near future and ultimately obtain his Builder’s licence.
Jim Mayol
A deep thinker and forward planner, Jim already has multiple job offers from reputable qualified Carpenters. Studying Construction management at University simultaneously, Jim aspires to work in project management or as a site foreman.
Matthew Daly
The boy from Bendigo plans to return home to work as a builder in the future. Approachable and friendly, Matt has found work locally in Tarneit and plans to obtain his Builder’s licence at some stage down the track.
Justin Camilleri
Quietly spoken but highly driven, Justin has secured full-time employment with a highly reputable construction crew starting next week. Plans to become a registered builder and work independantly in the future.
