Construction Induction Training (also known as White Card Training) is the mandatory work health and safety training required before undertaking construction work. ​If you’re a site manager, supervisor, surveyor, labourer, tradesperson or even doing work experience on a construction site, you need a White Card.

The course consists of an interactive in person presentation conducted by one of TIV’s experienced trainers along with a practical exercise that teaches correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and identification of workplace hazards. Course material is provided, along with a free Hi-Vis safety vest.

  • Student ID card (with photo) can be accepted as ID
  • Passport:
  • Australian Passport current or expired within the last two years, but not cancelled
  • International Passport must be current.
  • Drivers Learner’s Permit – Australian with photo (must be current)
  • Keypass ID card with photo (must be current)
  • Consumer Affairs Victoria Proof of Age Card with photo

You must be able to read and write in English.

What's included in the Price?

Fees and Government Funding

There is no government funding.

When will I receive my White Card?

Upon successful completion of TIV’s White Card training course, you will receive a State of Attainment for the unit of competency. This will be emailed to you approximately 10 business days after the course.

TIV will also apply to WorkSafe Victoria on your behalf for your White Card. This process may take up to 3-4 weeks and the card will be sent to you by mail.

Course Details

The course duration is one Saturday class from 8:45 am – 3:15 pm. You will only be required to attend the single day. We have two locations, one at Williamstown and the other being Dandenong.

Is it Face to Face or Online Course?

It can only be conducted as a Face To Face course, as advised by Worksafe.
