At TIV, apprentices attend our trade school for two consecutive days each month over a 10-month period each year. Our seasoned trainers, who bring extensive industry expertise, lead these sessions. They provide ongoing support for your on-the-job training through regular communication with both you and your employer.
Our carpentry program is designed for flexibility, allowing apprentices to work, earn, and learn simultaneously at their place of employment. This ensures that training remains practical and relevant to real-world scenarios.
Apprentices will gain skills in:
- Constructing truss, pitched, and complex roof systems
- Building floor, wall, and ceiling frames
- Installing and replacing windows and doors
- Applying OHS policies and procedures
- Constructing stairs, formwork, and reinforcement
- Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
- Working sustainably and effectively in a team environment
- Using various measuring devices for site layout
- Erecting scaffolding and working at heights

Yes, on completion you will be issued with the Nationally Recognised qualification:
- CPC30220 – Certificate III in Carpentry
Australian apprenticeships are available to anyone of working age. There is no requirement to hold a secondary school certificate or other qualification. You can undertake an Australian apprenticeship if you’re a school level entrant, are re-entering the workforce or are an adult worker.
Training is from 7.00am to 3.00pm.
