When I complete this qualification will I be a Registered Builder?

Completing the CPC40120 – Certificate IV in Building and Construction is a significant step toward becoming a registered builder. However, it doesn’t automatically grant you registration. The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) assesses candidates for registration based on their skills, knowledge, and experience. To become a registered builder, you’ll need to demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in running building projects, along with successfully completing the assessment processes conducted by the VBA.

While the Certificate IV course covers some areas assessed by the VBA, we recommend completing the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction as well. This will provide you with comprehensive skills and knowledge necessary for your application to the VBA, increasing your chances of successfully obtaining registration as a builder.
