TIV is proud to deliver a CPC40320 – Certificate IV in Building Project Support [Estimator Stream] online course is designed to meet the requirements of estimators and schedulers and or contract administrators in the building and construction industry who may have responsibility for the preparation of estimates from predetermined rates, processing of subcontractor claims and preparation of head and subcontracts for building and construction works.

This is a course that’s been completed by people of all ages and from all types of backgrounds.

This certificate will allow you to move into an office job in the industry, and provides job security even if you’re not quite ready to make that move.

The CPC40320 – Certificate IV in Building Project Support [Estimator Stream] online course is designed so you can learn and gain your industry recognised qualification from the comfort of your own home. This is one of the new pathways created to become an Estimator.

You can keep working in your current trade or job and still have time to do this course. No having to rush to class through peak hour traffic either because the majority of the course is completed from the comfort of your own home.

You can head home after work, have a shower and grab a bite to eat before settling in for your online learning. Dress for comfort and be more at ease in your own environment. This will make learning a whole lot easier.

Course Details

If you have completed the CPC40120 – Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building), you may be eligible for Credit Transfers.

Otherwise, the course duration is 6 months. Students are required to be present for online classes for two 3 hour evening sessions per week, either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.

There will also be four alternating Saturday sessions that will take place during the course. You will be required to attend in person for these so that you can observe how the theory relates to a practical situation on a building site.

• The National Construction Code
• The Australian House Building Manual
• The Guide to Standards and Tolerances
• Forms and templates that can be badged and branded to be used for your own future use

Delivery & Duration

The course is delivered over 6 months.

Students are required to attend timetabled training for two 3-hour evening sessions per week, either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Site-based practical projects are also included in the timetabled delivery phase.

Note: Applicants who have already completed the CPC40120 – Certificate IV in Building and Construction Qualification, may be entitled to credit transfers.

The cut off date to enrol is one week before the course starts.

Prerequisites

If you love numbers and love working out what’s needed to get a project constructed, this online estimating course is for you.

You don’t need any construction industry experience to enroll in this course, however it could be an advantage.

In order to enrol, you must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Be eighteen (18) years or older
  • Have a computer or laptop with Microsoft office (or equivalent). An iPad is not suitable.
  • Internet access for the duration of the course
  • WhatsApp downloaded for class interaction
  • Video access for Zoom calls
  • Availability at scheduled class times
  • Can read, write and speak English competently
  • Have successfully completed a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment

Is there Government Funding available?

Yes, TIV’s training services are delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth funding to eligible individuals.

If your highest qualification is years 10-12, or a Certificate I, II or III level or equivalent, you may be eligible to access government funding for this course.

If I choose the Virtual Classroom option, are there any face to face classes I need to attend?

Yes, there will be two compulsory Saturday sessions where you will attend face to face. One will be a Super Saturday (inspecting TIV buildings under construction). The other will be a site visit (inspecting private buildings under construction). These will be located around Melbourne.
